Operation Fragrant Harbour
Day 5
第5天是逛街天!
But first, we had breakfast consisting of an array of food. I swear once you taste delicacies and pastries from HK, you'll find those in SG bland.
Po lo bao, egg tarts and HK milk tea. The pineapple bun was good but I think Crystal Jade sells better ones and the egg tarts were ordinary.
HOWEVER, this French toast was the BOMB!!!! Tasted so so so good. The deep fried toast is topped of with a slice of butter and is eaten by drizzling maple syrup all over it. MMMMMMMM I wanna eat it again.
This is the Lucky Plaza of HK :) Domestic helpers would spend their day off over here by enjoying a picnic with friends.
The Umbrella Revolution!
Mongkok again ;)
And oh, did I mention? Tuition teachers in Hongkong are treated like celebrities. There are even well-known "tuition gods" that have their faces plastered on large billboards and are highly sought after by parents and students.
我们到了Sneaker's Street靠近Ladies' Market来做一点last minute shopping.
So basically, Sneaker's Street is this huge ass street filled with shops selling shoes, shoes and more SHOES!!! Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Vans, Converse, Onisuka Tiger, Asics, Reebok, Puma etc, you name it, they probably have it.
The prices were similar to the retail stores in shopping malls except for those on sales, which were like almost SGD$20-$30 cheaper!
We spent a great deal of time visiting all the shops, then revisting them again cause we were deciding whether to make the purchase(sorry Zhenyang!!)
Friendly protest. I think this banner is even thanking the police for keeping order. This is what I admire about the people of HK, they know how to stand their ground and they do it in such a dignified and peaceful manner.
Another advocate of the Umbrella Revolution
I think the sign says "Stop the government, we want real democracy, oppose dictatorship" or something. Please tell me I'm right hahahaha I know my chinese suck balls.
Curry fishballs!!! Spicy but delicious.
After an entire day of shopping and eating, we decided to visit Victoria Peak.
It seems like every time I go to hk, I would ride The Peak tram.
Spent loads of time queuing up. In fact, this whole trip we're just queuing up most of the time HAHA. Queuing up for good food, for tickets, for theme park rides, for toilets etc.
Took the tram back down before we caught the Star Ferry heading towards Tsim Sha Tsui
Went back to the clocktower which we visited on the first day to catch the fireworks but this time round, there was considerably less people.
Went to this highly recommended place for dinner, called 輕鬆一下, the food was quite pricey but good food is worth paying more for!
Guess what we did during dinner time? Relaxed for a while la!
This Wally can't wait to start eating
Verdict: 5/5 man!!! Everything was yummy, we ate past the point of hunger.
