I wanna run wild in the middle of the night, right under the moon.

IT Fair

So about a week ago, Poh and I went to work at the IT fair at Suntec. Thanks Chan for the recommendation :)

Anyway, we were working under Challenger and we're supposed to promote Lenovo stuff HAHAH joke man the first two days.

We were totally clueless about the products so when the customers were making enquiries about the laptops and tablets, I kept trying to distract them for awhile before sneaking a peak at the brochures and regurgitating the specifications of the product, hahaha damn fail.

Sales was terrible for the first two days but for the subsequent two days, we started to get the hang of it, to the point where there was no need to refer to the brochures anymore, and we'll be shooting out stuff like "i7 processor", "8GB ram start-up very fast", "has graphics card, good for heavyduty work" and all those IT stuff that I was completely clueless about until my 4-day work stint.

The basic pay only adds up to about $6++ per hour(which is really little) so that's why we have to rely on commission to make our jobs 'wu hua'(worthwhile in Hokkien). So only after the third day did we discover that the commission was also quite low, like it ranges from $1-$6 per product, but aiya, the bosses also quite sad cause they had to slash the prices so low plus have to constantly dish out free gifts.

The most common type of customers would basically ask these two questions, "got discount?", "free gifts leh?" then we promoters have to rush to the bosses to see whether can cut the price and/or throw in freebies.

Work was TOUGH, standing up for 10 hours++ each day, and every minute we'll be trying to capture the customers' attention. "ONLY $849 15" screen i7 processor" and stuff like that.

But luckily got Poh and some other nice people to talk to when the tough gets going :)

Thanks homie ♥

Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's passing

I'm not really a patriot but this incident really struck me in such a peculiar way. After reading the hoards of LKY appreciation posts on Twitter after his passing, I have to admit, he was a wonderful and legendary figure. Well, he is, because he's still alive in our hearts.

Really saddens me but I guess he did live a fulfilling life, passing at the ripe age of 91, and able to see the beautiful nation that he had sculpted with his bare hands develop into one of the world's greatest cities to reside in.

Poh and I wanted to visit his state memorial on Thursday but Belinda couldn't make it so we changed it to Friday and in the end, Belinda didn't even come tsk this girl. Anyway, the queue on Friday was like 5x longer than the one on Thursday and it was pure madness.

Once we exited from Cityhall MRT, the queue had already begun. In fact, that was just the queue to get to the official queue at the Padang. We even had to queue at the traffic light.

so hot and crowded ):

Some uncivilised people even disregarded the barricades and went to cut queue but luckily people at the back were jeering at them and some even shouted "SHAME ON YOU". Isn't ironic? How they're attending a solemn event yet they still want to resort to queue-jumping.

After queuing for around 70 mins, we finally reached the official queue and the volunteers were holding up signs saying "10 hours" which was INSANE?!

We decided to abandon the queue ): (if my future children are reading this right now, yea, I know your mummy was a pussy)

Dropped off our messages before leaving.

Was super thirsty and a lil hungz so we went to chill for awhile.

Then we took mrt to tamp to watch Home.

But before that, we visited the LKY tribute next to t1

Wrote an even longer message in the condolence book

*salute*

The movie was... ok la, there are better Dreamworks movies out there.

Surprised that Rihanna and J. Lo actually voiced the characters, and Jim Parsons also did the voice-overs too which I could immediately tell once his character spoke. I was like, isn't that Sheldon Cooper's voice from The Big Bang Theory??!

Took damn long to get this shot cause the toilet was so busy and we didn't want people to see us taking photos so we had to wait for them to leave.

Chicken Up

Was supposed to meet Shiting and Char at 11am on Sat but I was SUPER LATE.

My phone died so when I woke up, I was still thinking, "wah I sleep so long liao my alarm still haven't go off" so I went to check my clock and realised I was already 1 hour plus late hahahaha

Bathed damn fast and charged my phone before rushing out to meet them.

The night before, I was still telling them "don't late ah", "late must pay the bill" HAHAH shit I ended up sabo-ing myself.

They already ate two plates of chicken when I arrived so we ordered another plate. The food was like, so-so nia? Thought it would taste amazing or something but sigh.

Then we ordered the melon bingsu

$20 sia plus damn cheat my feelings HAHA. I still thought the round orange-coloured balls were sorbet or something so when I scooped my first ball and place it in my mouth, I was so disappointed. It was just melon fruit in the shape of a ball.

Tasted ordinary. And I ended up having to pay more for the bill cause of my silly mouth la hahah lesson learnt, don't talk about punishments for being late cause it might end up biting you back in the ass ):

Char left first cause she had work so Shiting and I were just wandering about while she was waiting for her 4pm movie to start.

SAW APURVA after like 2 years!!! GOSH!

And saw Sng too when we were buying bb tea.

Visited the tribute place again cause we had nothing to do. The queue was damn long so we just stood at the side reading the messages.

Some of them were really touching and heartwarming.

Sunday

Went to church and they distributed black ribbons.

We had a special service where we observed a minute of silence with heads bowed down for the late Mr. LKY.

After that, went home to watch the procession, dem feels, it was so sad.

Monday

Met up with the noobs Betsy, Poh, Chan and Chuthongz for dinner and chillz sesh.

Ate in the dark cause we sat at the veranda of the bar.

Initially wanted to get beers but Belinda said "want to get high leh" so bopian we ordered cocktails instead.

The mojito and Sex on the Beach were the best, Long Island was ok and the Lime and Strawberry magarita tasted like shit man.

I can't even describe the taste cause it tasted really vile like weird alcohol stored in a cupboard for 50 years already with something else that's gross???

But we ended up drinking everything up cause don't waste ma.

Belinda was like super high or something HAHAHA

Then after that still order beer.

Literally ran to the toilet????

Carrying this drunk woman

All grown-up but we're still the same deep inside since sec school ♥ ♥ ♥

is that the old man walking in the dark?

Second good news of the week!!!! SMU has finally called me for an interview 10 mins ago. Looks like they did receive my application letter after all :)

I'm inclined to accept the first offer straightaway but... I guess I should just go for the interview cause I'm scared I'll be blacklisted or something for canceling last minute..

3 years vs. 4 years

Jurong East vs. Bras Basah

Campus vs. no campus

In the middle of nowhere vs. town

Internships vs. lots of internships

School fees vs. more ex school fees

Lower starting pay vs higher starting pay

choices... but I think I've already made mine subconsciously.

Still, thank You God for answering my prayers!!!

This is a song about somebody else, so don’t worry yourself

So I'm gonna un-private this site in a couple of days, weeks or months ;) and by then y'all probably gonna wonder why I privated it in the first place.
Well, for a mixture of reasons:

1)I'm too lazy to update so might as well keep it locked

2)Too busy working, been job-hopping, most recent job was working at IT fair with Pohpinah heh but hellz tiring man... don't think I'll be getting a job anytime soon cause I just wanna lay back and shake leg for awhile. Maybe I'll start doing something else instead of binge-watching shows on my com(latest binge: Suits, Season 1 & 2 were so good, then everything else went downhill afterwards) like reading again or exercise or anything else but being a lazy bum. Keep finding excuses to not run, "Aiya so hot now", "Looks like it's gonna rain", "Tomorrow, tomorrow then I run!". What is wrong with me??

3)Because of xxxxxxxxxxxx

Anyway, I'm freaking out right now. Submitted all three of my applications to uni about 3-6 days ago but I still haven't heard from all three of them...oh goodness I'm so worried I left out something while applying, and also afraid that the letter containing my certs and achievements that I had mailed to SMU did not reach them. Hopefully all works out. Fun fact: You could actually get your letter weighed at the post office and pay for a digitally-printed stamp. Perhaps this has always been the case since years ago but I only found out last week. I think the woman across the counter was extremely appalled when I leaned over and I asked her what to do with my letter since idk about mailing stuff.

I have faith in you Lord!!!

RIP Mr Lee Kuan Yew, you're the definition of a legend.

Take me out and we'll karaoke, tonight we feel famous, don't we?

So much has happened in such a short span of time.

2nd March aka D-Day

I have to admit, the days that led up to the second of March really got me almost shitting my brains out and shaking like a lil' kid at the sight of a killer clown. I was so close to admitting defeat that I had a Plan B - studying undesirable courses or pursuing education overseas. And one week before that fateful day, I drafted out my plan and kept it in my drawer... praying I wouldn't never have to refer to it.

The day before 2 March? Woaaah. I recollect memories of myself folding jeans in Uniqlo while sweating beads. I recall freaking out on the MRT with Weili on our way back. Once I got home, nothing else was on my mind but the release of results. I was praying and praying and I even took the Holy Communion.

God answered my prayers the very next day.

Whichever path you choose, don’t forget to thank the teachers, family members and friends who helped you to get here. Do continue to work hard and live life to the full. All the best!
- PM Lee Hsien Loong

We wouldn't be where we are at the moment without these wonderful teachers and many others who taught us with such fervour but are missing in the photo :')

This place right here ain't a terrible place. In fact, it's a catalyst for great change. I think I've said it before but I'm going to say it again. I love this place and I will miss this place and everyone who belonged here and even the physical building itself(the stuffy B-block classrooms, the freezing D-block classrooms which might as well be renamed "the Antarctica", the benches outside the classrooms, library and staffroom where all of us played and worked hard at, basically every nook and cranny of TPJC).

Traveled all the way to nex for the purpose of giving staff discount to Esther and Kathy but I still ended up buying shit at Uniqlo. I don't think I'll be entering an outlet any time soon after working in that hellhole for the past 6 weeks.

Had dinner afterwards anddd... thanks for surprising me :') Really appreciate it.

Handsome boy

Thanks for the celebration :')

And the uni & life advice.

6th March

This date means so much to me, guess why!!! Freaking last day of work at Uniqlo, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Dear Uniqlo:

I'm overjoyed to have parted ways with you, the past 6 weeks have been a mixture of fun and hell. Grateful to have met so many lovely and friendly people from Level 2 and also some L1 staff who made the journey enjoyable and substantially less excruciating. However, during my stint at Uniqlo, I've also met some...let's just say, undesirable characters that bring the words "bossy", "snobbish" and "unreasonable" to whole new levels.

But thank you, at the same time. You've made me realised that if I can tolerate the bullshit in UQ, I'm capable of doing anything in life.

Unplanned #twinning moment with my best bro in Uniqlo :') Thanks for introducing the job to me, and for being such a kickass companion and gossip buddy.

Right after my last day of work(YEAAAAAAA!), this crazy bunch(PZ, Fionn, Cia and Emily) came and surprise me at my workplace with cake heheh thanks for multiplying my joy that day. ;)

Sat outside of Bugis+ at close to midnight stuffing our faces with chocolate cake while getting judged by others. But sadly, no pictures were taken ):
